A Joint Initiative between the Explore Program and Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages
LET'S TALK « EXPERIENCE » !
Did you receive the Explore bursary this year? Then you can apply for a summer employment program which will follow the five week Explore Program immersion course. If your host institution offers the program, you will be sent an application which you are invited to immediately complete and return. Visit the "Participating Institutions" section on the right side of this page to see if your institution offers the program.
The program includes two employment periods. The first, following the Explore Program sping session, will last six to eight weeks. The second, held after the summer session, will last three weeks. Some institutions may also offer the three-week employment program in the spring. The work experience is designed to offer you the opportunity to improve your second language skills.

DETAILS
You will work approximately 35 hours per week and you will receive your host province's minimum wage, plus one dollar.
Moreover, a salary indexation for labour mobility will be added to your salary to help you pay for your accommodation and your travel expenses.
The Languages at Work program will not provide you with the same supervision as the Explore bursary. The participant is responsible for the payment of accommodation, travel, and meal expenses with his salary and the help provided by the institution's Languages at Work project officer. The participant must demonstrate a sense of autonomy and responsibility.
If you decide, throughout the Explore Program, to participate in the Languages at Work program, we will refund the fees for changing the date of your return trip (with proof of receipt).
** The employer may agree to increase participants' salary.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF !
Selection will be based on candidate résumés, interviews, and the employer's specific business needs.
Our establishment is currently working with Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages (YCWBOL) on developing the summer Languages at Work program. It will offer participants of the Explore Program the opportunity to gain work experience in their second official language.

INTERESTED ?
Here are the steps you need to take:
To be considered as a candidate for the Languages at Work, you simply have to register by completing the attached application form and returning it to your Explore institution with a recent copy of your résumé (in the language to be learned). You must send us these documents two weeks before the Explore Program starts.
If you are selected for the Languages at Work program, it is important that you be able to easily change your return date. We suggest you buy your transportation ticket from agencies such as Voyages Campus or Travel Cuts, because they offer students preferential prices and special conditions for changing return dates, as well as the ISIC card. Visit the website: www.travelcuts.com.
For more information, contact your Explore Program institution.
